Third-period leads haven’t meant much this season in two meetings between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers.

The Southeast Division rivals close out a home-and-home series Saturday night when they meet at the BankAtlantic Center for the first time this season.

After tallying a pair of unanswered, third-period goals in a 3-2 victory over Florida on Oct. 12, the Lightning (18-18-10) couldn’t hold on to a 2-1 lead in the final period Thursday, falling 3-2 as Cory Stillman and Rostislav Olesz scored for the visiting Panthers (19-20-8).

Tampa Bay is 13-2-1 when ahead after 40 minutes.
