The Chicago Blackhawks appear to be on their way to ending the Detroit Red Wings’ stranglehold on the Central Division. Dominating all of their division foes has helped.

The Blackhawks look to add to their lead Sunday afternoon when they visit Joe Louis Arena in search of their third straight win over the Red Wings.

Chicago (33-11-4) is tied with San Jose at 70 points in the race for its first Presidents’ Trophy since 1991. Within the Central, the Blackhawks have a nine-point lead on second-place Nashville and a 15-point advantage on the Red Wings, who have won eight consecutive division titles and 12 of 15 with a league-record six Presidents’ Trophies and four Stanley Cups in that span.
